In this post i am going to tell you about HTMLCOIN and what is has to do with HTML5COIN.

HTMLcoin and HTML5COIN

First some history, HTML5COIN was a coin founded in 2014 and made as an alt coin, just like lite coin. HTML5 was at that time only ment as a currency for transfering money, but better than bitcoin. In 2017 the coin was hit by a 51% attack, and faced big problems. 

A 51% attack is in short a someone or a group controlling more than 50% of the network's mining/computing power. The group will the be able to prevent new transactions from gaining confirmations, potentially allowing them to stop transactions between all users. They would also be able to reverse transactions recorded on the blockchain that were complete while they had over 50% of the power, meaning they could spend the money twice. More can be readhere.

A new team believed in the original founders vision, that one man, one community, and one coin, can make a difference. They kept on working on the coin, and it's now being re-branded as HTMLcoin with new technologies.

The new HTMLcoin

The new HTMLcoin is not just a re-brand, as stated above, it has a lot of new technologies, like real time check pointing, which should protect the coin from a new 51% attack.

They are going for etablishing a hybrid coin between bitcoin and ethereum. It is a new secure blockchain based on Bitcoin core that integrates ethereum based smart contracts. They are using some of the best and mor innovative technologies of the crypto world.

The team has a lot of ideas for the coin, the community and what they want to make of the platform. I wil list some of them here and the rest can be read in the whitepaper.

  Provide a strong, stable and robust cryptocurrency, which will encourage third-party application development.

  Facilitet the development of the HTMLcoin community in the world and spread awareness about the coin to the mainstream. They will also provide an accessible blockchain platform, with technical support, that can be utilized by both small businesses and large multi-nationals.

How do i acquire HTMLcoin?

HTMLcoin can be bought at some different exchanges, like Tradesatoshi and bleutrade, the coin is also soon to be on Kucoin (not confirmed but i #2 in the vote contest). The coin is cheap right now, trading at 24 satoshi.

If you have some HTML5coins they can be swapped on this site, until the 12th of February the ratio will be 1:1

It is, of course, also possible to mine the coin, at the moment only via CPU though, and not via GPU yet. The coin uses the "Double SHA 256".
