IMF SDR rebalance at midnight tonight thoughts and after effects.

The International Monetary Fund will be rebalancing their Special Drawing Rights weighting formula starting in a few hours, by adding a fifth currency , the Renminbi. The weighting for the US dollar is still around 44% of the basket total but the Euro, Yen and GBP will all take a heaver hit, reapectively in the rebalancing.

While I do not expect anything to occur as a direct result of this rebalancing in the near future, as old trade relationships, breakdown, and new ones are forged over the next few monts and years this addition of the Renminbi and subsequent rebalancing is a clue to how the world power structures will be moving.

The dollar at this point may still be a heavy in the basket, but soley not to disrupt settlement trade as the reserve currency for trade.

Save an event that is similar to the 1981 movie Rollover soon, things should remain status quo for the near future. With the pasding of JASTA this week, the declining petro dollar, and its dollar recycling mechinsim, and the decline in oil demand, a Saudi dump of assets may be in the cards for later this year into 2017.

Either way this is a warning shot for people to take action for themselves. That may mean buying an extra package of toilet paper, a carton of cigarettes, or better yet some bitcoin, or steem to help remain liquid in the forseeable future as we all continue to walk through this economic minefield.
