Jack Ma- the founder and Chairman of Alibaba- withdrew his January 2017 commitment to create 1 million jobs in the United States two days ago, NYPOST reported.

Ma made the decision in response to American President Donald Trump's decision on 17 September 2018 to impose 10% tariffs on Chinese goods worth USD 200 billion in the third round of the ongoing trade war between the United States and China.

According to NYPOST, Ma told China’s Xinhua news agency that “this commitment is based on friendly China-US cooperation and the rational and objective premise of bilateral trade.”
