o günden
çok daha evvel,
köprü başında sallanarak
bir sabah vakti gölgemi asfalta salacağım.
Belki ben

çok daha sonra ,
matruş çenemde ak bir sakalın izi
sağ kalacağım...
Ve ben
o günden
çok daha sonra:

sağ kalırsam eğer,
şehrin meydan kenarlarında yaslanıp
duvarlara
son kavgadan benim gibi sağ kalan
ihtiyarlara,
bayram akşamlarında keman
çalacağım...
Etrafta mükemmel bir gecenin
ışıklı kaldırımları
Ve yeni şarkılar söyleyen
yeni insanların
adımları...

Who and Why Nazım Hikmet ?

Nazım Hikmet and I born same town, Thessaloniki / Greece. The Turkish people in Thessaloniki are very emotional and romantic. We love to express our feelings and we do it very well. I always wanted to express my feelings with art. That's why i choose cinema in my professional life. Nazım Hikmet choosed poem for this. Of course i can't express my feelings as Nazım Hikmet do. In Turkey, we call him Master of Poetry. But I want to be successful in the cinema as he is in poetry.

One bad thing about Nazim Hikmet is that he died in Russia. But it's not his fault. Nazim was always be free. In that years, Turkey had many problems in politic. Many good people had to leave country. Nazim was the one of them. He had to leave the country. I'm also feel same pressure in cinema as he did. Because all goverments no matter what they believe, they always trying to stop free will. Art means free will. If you don't have free will, you can't do anything. I never will be brave as Nazım Hikmet. But he is always my guide. In fact, he guide all of us who want to make better things in our lives.

I chose that poetry because it's remembers me some of my good memories. When i in love, i always read it. When i'm upset, i always read it as well. In the end, no matter how i feel, i will be always be happy when i read it.
