Serdar Ortaç was born on February 16, 1970 in Istanbul. He completed his primary education in Kocamustafapaşa and secondary education in Suadiye Lisesi. Haydarpaşa Vocational High School in the lathe-leveling department.

After graduating from Lise, Bilkent University won the Department of American Language and Literature. He left university at Bilkent University after completing his college education.

He worked as a program producer and in one of the special radios in Istanbul for about a year. In 1999, his fourth album "Bilsemki" was released. The song "Asrın Hatası", which was included in the album, was one of the most played songs in clubs all night, bars and radio that year. It can be said that there are almost no singers who do not sing the song.

In 2001, he performed his work for other artists' albums on the 'Sahibinin Seseri' album and entered the studio again for his fifth album. The "Sultan" Sibel Can sang before became the most popular song of the year for a whole year. With this composition MİLLİYET received the song of the year award.

Album 6 "Ocean" appeared in 2002. Songs like Yaque, Je t'aime, Kabahat were also included in the favorite songs lists of the most popular places.

Serdar Ortaç, who brought his 7th album "Chakra" with his fans in 2004, captured more than 807 thousand sales figures with this album and it was deemed worthy of the Most Albums Selling Artist award at the 2005 MÜYAP Music Awards ceremony.
