The ancient city Troy

Troy is one of the most famous ancient cities in the world. The 9 layers seen in Troy show uninterrupted time more than 3000 years and provide the civilization that is settled in this unique geography where Anatolia, Aegean and Balkans meet. The earliest settlement floor in Troy was in the Early Bronze Age and is dated to 3000-2500 BC, then the Troy layers, which were constantly inhabited. It ends with the Roman period dated to the 8th century. Because of its geographical location, Troy has always played a very important role in terms of commercial and cultural connections with other regions of the civilizations ruling there. Troy also serves as a reference for other archaeological sites in Europe and the Aegean, with the uninterrupted stratification it has shown. The excavations are still being carried out in this magnificent archaeological city first excavated by Heinrich Schliemann in 1871, later by W. Dörpfeld, C. W Blegen.
