Orhan Kemal (Mehmet Raşit Öğütçü) was born on September 15, 1914 in Ceyhan. Orhan Kemal had to leave his childhood class at the end of middle school, after his father passed to Syria in 1930 for fear of being killed for establishing the Confederacy and publishing newspapers. After staying with his father for a while in Syria and Lebanon, he left him and returned to Adana (1932). Worker, weaver, warehouse clerk in the gin business, worked as a clerk at the National Textile Factory. During his military service, he was sentenced to five years in prison for the propaganda of communism (1939-1943). When he was released, he was a prosecutor at the operation, vegetable transportation and Adana Tuberculosis Association. In 1950, he settled in Istanbul and tried to win his life by writing. He died of cerebral hemorrhage on June 2, 1970 in Sofia, where the Bulgarian and Romanian Writers' Union was invited as an invitation, mostly for medical purposes, and was placed in Istanbul.
