Galata Kulesi Hakkında Bilmediklerimiz - Unknowns of Galata Tower |TR-ENG|

- Ahşap olarak yapılan ve dünyanın ilk kulelerinden biri olduğuna inanılan Galata Kulesi, Bizans Kralı Anastasius tarafından yaptırıldı. O zamanlar gözetleme kulesi ve fener olarak kullanılan kule, bu nedenle Galata'nın en yüksek bölgesine inşa edildi.

- The Galata Tower (Istanbul - Turkey) which built of wood and believed to be one of the world's first towers was built by the Byzantine King Anastasius. The tower which used to be watchtower and lantern at that time was therefore built to the highest area of Galata.

- Asırlarca İstanbul'a bekçilik yapan Galata Kulesi 1204'de, Haçlı Seferi sırasında büyük hasar aldı. 1348'de Cenevizliler tarafından, bu sefer ahşap olarak değil yığma taş yöntemiyle yeniden inşa edildi. İstanbul'un fethi sonrası kulenin anahtarı Fatih Sultan Mehmet'e teslim edildi. Bu dönemde kule, akşam vakitlerini duyurmak ve yangınları tespit etmek için kullanıldı. 1509 yılında İstanbul'da meydana gelen büyük depremde kule tamamen yıkıldı. O zamanların ünlü mimarlarından olan Mimar Hayrettin Efendi, Galata Kulesi'ni yeniden inşa etti ve kule bir süre zindan olarak kullanıldı.

- Galata Tower which guarded Istanbul for centuries, suffered great damage during the Crusade in 1204. In 1348, it was rebuilt by the Genoese, not  wood but by clay stone. The tower's key was delivered to Fatih Sultan Mehmet after the conquest of Istanbul. The tower was used to announce the evening time and to detect the fires in this period. The tower was totally destroyed in the great earthquake that occurred in Istanbul in 1509. Architect Hayrettin Efendi, who was one of the famous architects of that days rebuilt the Galata Tower and the tower used as a dungeon for a while.

- Galata bölgesi zamanla İstanbul'un en önemli ticaret merkezi oldu. 1800'lerde Galata ve civarını gezen Edmon Deminicis şöyle demişti:

Burada sarıklı ve fes giyen insanları görmeseniz, Doğu'da olduğunuza inanamazsınız. Her yerde İtalyanca, Fransızca ve Ceneviz dilleri konuşuluyor".

1930'da, Cumhuriyet Gazetesi'nde yayınlanan bir haberde, Belediye'nin Galata Kulesi'ne bir küre koyduğu paylaşılmıştı. Bunun sebebi de, ülke genelinde saat birliğini sağlamaktı. Saat 12.00'da küre düşecek ve saat farkı bir dakikayı geçmeyecekti.

- Galata region became Istanbul's most important trade center over time. Edmon Deminicis, who traveled around Galata in the 1800s said:

You can't believe that you are in the east unless you see people wearing fez here. Everywhere Italian, French and Genoese languages are spoken."

In 1930 a news published in Cumhuriyet Newspaper, it was shared that the municipality put a ball in Galata Tower. Target; They wanted to provide watch integrity throughout the country. At 12.00, the ball would fall and the time difference wouldn't pass one minute.
