Greenland is a large island and an autonomous territory of Denmark. The island is washed by the Atlantic and Arctic Oceans. Most of its surface is covered with ice. The bulk of the small population of Greenland lives on the fjord-cut coast, where there is no ice. Especially densely populated is the south-west. The island is located in the north, partly behind the Arctic Circle, so it is characterized by such natural phenomena as the midnight sun in the summer and the northern lights in the winter.

Гренландия – это большой остров и автономная территория Дании. Остров омывается Атлантическим и Северным Ледовитым океанами. Большая часть его поверхности покрыта льдом. Основная масса немногочисленного населения Гренландии живет на изрезанном фьордами побережье, где нет льда. Особенно густо заселен юго-запад. Остров расположен на севере, частично за полярным кругом, поэтому для него характерны такие природные явления, как полуночное солнце летом и северное сияние зимой.
