Bak bakayım bana Nuray dedim, baktı. Güzel gözlerince yorgun bakışlarıyla, dudağında buruk bir gülümseme, üstü başı biraz kirlenmiş babasıyla bahçe bellerken, bizi görünce mahçup oldu. Kınalı saçları tozdan kirden pislenmiş, avuç içlerinde nasır, ellerinin üstünde soğuk yanıkları... Hiçbiri gözlerindeki derin güzelliği götürmemişti.

Böyle çocukların bütün dünyada var olduğunu aklıma geldikçe boğazım düğümlenir. Yaz gelsin isterim bir an evvel, ısınsın tüm çocukların elleri...
