Tpot Contest No. 18: The Wonders of Nature!!
Yesterday, I shared some lovely images of the day my family and I went to the Sea Point Beach Park. I took such lovely photos of nature there, that I wanted to enter them into the @tpot contest for this week, for which the theme is The Wonders of Nature. Today though, I will give a small talk on each one and why I believe these images of nature are so wonderful.
First off, the image above reflects a Norfolk Island Pine tree. It is a gorgeous tree that I have been trying to propagate into a bonsai for years, but the offcuts don't ever take and I can never find a tree with cones. What makes that specific photo special is that the Pine has a twin trunk. If you google images of this tree, you will see they usually only grow with one main trunk, making the twin trunk very rare and special.
This image above reflects rows and rows of Indian Palms trees. They give the beach that Miami sort of look, giving the joggers running down the sidewalks a wonderful view as they pass. The Indian Palm is one of my favourite palm trees, as I love the way the palm branches spread out at the top. You can see the bushes of yellow fruit with their valuable seeds between the upper foliage.
This is one of the beautiful seagulls that followed us around. The children were eager to feed them the scraps from lunch, while the seagulls were more than happy to oblige by eating them. Here are two more images of the seagull, one in flight above me and another in flight from my daughter.
The ocean is also extremely beautiful. I love the way the sun strikes the water and gives it that wonderful glow. I tried to capture the sunlight on the water, as well as some rock footage with the water around it. There is something about it, revealing four of the natural elements: fire from the sun, water in the ocean, earth in the rock and the fresh sea air all around. Blissful heaven. And when the fifth element, the human soul, is nearby, then the world is complete in all its glory. For what is the beauty of nature if we cannot behold it?
And finally, some very close-up photography. I love taking very close photos with my Samsung Nx1100, which grabs details in high definition. One can never get enough of looking at the wondrous beauty of nature up close and personal.
And that's it for my entry into the @tpot contest this week. I really hope you all enjoyed my photography. Tpot has really made me enjoy my camera, which I haven't used like this for years. Thank you for the inspiration!
