Switzerland is full of beautiful cities.
Canada is full of peaceful cities (tho is cold)
Spain is colorful
France is lovely

But still, there are some cities out of the "touristic circuit " which worth a chance:
Mardin, Turkey. I've sent a friend there (which usually travel to the west) and surprisingly he loves it :)

I loved it too. The old city and its people. The sunset and tea places on any rooftop.
