Ancient human footprint of Southeast Asia in Harimau Cave

Harimau cave is one of five karst cave located in Padang bindu village. From the view of cultural point of the Harimau Cave is very important, because besides prehistoric human skeletons that estimated age of about 3,500 years ago, there were also found ancient objects in there which have the value of historical heritage. Therefore it zone has been declared as an archaeological site by the National Archaeological Research Center of Republic of Indonesia. The existence of Harimau Cave sites has attracted many researchers in both domestic and foreign researchers with in various disciplines background to participate in conducting research in an effort to uncover prehistoric human civilization were found in the cave.





Harimau cave is located in the countryside of Padang bindu which is about 35 kilometers from the Baturaja the Capital of OKU regency of South Sumatra Province, and to go there you can use a car with the distance around 30 minutes.
