A JOURNEY THROUGH ROMANIA part 1
Feeling blue today so i decided to present you my country, Romania. I left it years ago for personal reasons and needless to say I'm not going back. So here we go .
The croncles say it is placed in " the way of all evils ", between the Danube, Black Sea ad Carpathian mountains. Not many of you know that Romania has an unique colour which is voronet blue , specific to Voronet Monastery.
But today I want to talk about Dracula :)))) and this is him right here
His real name was Vlad Tepes or Vlad Dracul( Vlad the Impaler, later transformed by Stoker into Count Dracula),born in 1428 in the fortress city of Sighisoara. His father, Vlad Dacul, was the military governor of Transylvania and had become a member of the Order of the Dragon a year before. For his deeds, the Order of the Dragon was bestowed upon him, hence the title Dracul (the Latin word for dragon is draco). Dracula, the title of Vlad Tepes, translates as Son of Dracul.
Vlad became the ruler of Walachia in July of 1456. During his six-year reign, he committed many cruelties, hence establishing his controversial reputation.
Vlad Tepes adopted the method of impaling criminals and enemies and raising them aloft in the town square for all to see. Almost any crime, from lying and stealing to killing, could be punished by impalement. Being so confident in the effectiveness of his law, Dracula placed a golden cup on display in the central square of Targoviste. The cup could be used by thirsty travelers, but had to remain on the square. According to the available historical sources, it was never stolen and remained entirely unmolested throughout Vlad's reign. By the way, the Dracula that you know from movies is an innocent baby next to the real Vlad Dracula.
The only real link between the historical Dracula (1431-1476) and the modern literary myth of the vampire is the 1897 novel. Vlad Tepes actual castle isn’t in Transylvania, it’s in Wallachia. Bran Castle is the only castle, in the right area, that matches Stoker’s description.Although he never traveled to Romania, Stoker crammed his book with descriptions of many real locations that can still be visited in present-day Romania.
Commonly known as “Dracula’s Castle, but no one knows for sure, Bran castle is still shrouded in an aura of mystery, myth, intrigue, and the magic of this beautiful place and its queen.

This is actually the real castleof Vlad Tepes, also known as Poenari Citadel or Poenari Castle, a ruined castle and one of the most interesting things about it is that if you want to visit it, you have to climb 1,480 concrete stairs.
