HOME TOUR: THE TOWER ON THE BASILICA

I love every detail of today's home tour : a large apartment in the historic center of Padua, in a fifteenth-century tower recovered through a conservative restoration, which has become the home of a professional couple. A vertical house.

To take care of the furnishing project, the study of Claudia Pelizzari , one of the interior designers that I appreciate most: each house furnished by her is unique, characterized by a mix of eclectic and often not very minimalist styles . Finally someone who has not made "less is more" their mantra.

There are many projects of the studio Pelizzari that struck me and I hope to publish others.
To make me choose to start with this was the destructured iron bookcase , a stroke of lightning. And then you noticed that even today I show you an attic? It has become the leitmotif of the last post.

The iron bookcase, the Copper Round pendants by Tom Dixon, the melted brass table in the shape of a leaf, made to design: different materials in perfect balance , within the same environment.

To complete the furniture, works of art, paintings and vases collections, alternate with ethnic objects and travel memories of the owners.

And in addition to the mix of materials, I really appreciated the fusion between different styles and the choice of fabric colors. The '40s oil armchair would be perfect in my living room.

The dining area and the kitchen are located on the upper floor, which is accessed from the living room through a glass and corten staircase .

In the kitchen, fossil and bronze wood doors are mixed with Zimbawe and Green Forest granite tops. The island is based on an etched iron plate.

The dining table , designed by the studio Pelizzari, has a large irregular plan in earthenware pesto and the base in the shape of a branch carved in carved wood, with bronze casting.
On the left a niche lined in etched brass.

From the kitchen the view of the Basilica of St. Anthony , one of the largest churches in the world, characterized by a mixture of styles (Romanesque, Gothic, Byzantine); a bit like the house in the tower, which made it a peculiarity of a mix of styles and materials.

The sleeping area has some walls covered in wood gray by the time that conceal the wardrobes and the door flush with the dressing room.

The headboard of the bed is made of a glass screen that encloses, as in a led illuminated case, a work on gauze encrusted with gold and bronze by Vasudha Evans. Two mirrored parallelepipeds as bedside tables

"After all, this tower-house has succumbed to new international glory, reliving new times, just like a lady who gives herself a facelift."
