Tell me the ALT coins have a chance without Bitcoin....
Most of us know that Bitcoin is now a speculative asset and not much more. It takes forever to send and the costs are way too high. The banks now run it (shocker), but how are the other coins that perform far better going to grow without BTC? When will the exchanges have markets for other coins? In other words, I HAVE to use BTC to buy most other coins on Bittrex, Kraken or Poloniex.
Shouldn't some of the other coins carry more influence over the total market cap (excluding bitcoin)? BTC dominance is about 35% right now but 2-5 and also 35% (ETH, XRP,BCH and LTC).

Ripple, on the other hand, does introduce a significant change. It is used for fast money transactions and as such has a lot of appeal to major financial institutions. This is something that makes it somewhat more stable and less prone to fluctuations.
Thanks for the upvote. Be careful with XRP. I do own it but I own more XLM. My point is... When BTC went down 50%, XRP went down 66%. Why does the market follow BTC? The BTC omitted market cap should act apart from the market cap with BTC.
