They protect your data with state-of-the-art 256-bit AES encryption, with DNS & IPV6 leak blocking, and more security options.

To Wrap It Up
If you’ve been thinking about getting TorGuard for a while now, I’d say that now is a great time to get it, what with all the insane Black Friday deals going around. (Lifetime 50% discount for unlimited VPN!!) If you do, let us know how much you’ve enjoyed it!
TorGuard might be considered a little pricey compared to other VPN services in the market, however, the level of security and the countless features it provides makes it worth the money.
Starting off with its security standards, TorGuard uses military-grade encryption (BF CBC, AES 128-bit, AES 256-bit) to secure its entire network of servers. It supports multiple security protocols including OpenVPN, PPTP, L2TP/IPSec, SSTP, and IKEv2.
In addition, TorGuard has a Stealth VPN feature that is optimized to bypass Deep Packet Inspections (DPI) which comes in handy in China or other countries that block VPNs.
The Stealth connection uses OpenVPN, SSTP, and SSL tunneling, so you don’t have to compromise your security to bypass a VPN block.
TorGuard does have a kill-switch, which is a good security tool to have.
Just as well, the VPN service has built-in IP/DNS/WebRTC leak protection as well as an obfuscation feature.
Moving on to privacy, Torguard is based in the US, one of the five-eyes countries, which, means TorGuard falls under US jurisdiction and its data retention laws.
However, the VPN is very transparent when it comes to its logging policy as it states clearly which information is kept and why.
In their policy, the company clearly states that "TorGuard collects personally identifiable information from Users through online forms for ordering products and services. [Torguard] may also collect information about how Users use [the] Web site, for example, by tracking the number of unique views received by the pages of the website or the domains from which Users originate."
The gathered information, as per the privacy policy, is not enough to give away your online identity and activities.
Torguard offers unlimited bandwidth and data transfer. When we tested its speed on several different servers, the results were pretty impressive. Unfortunately, despite the speed test result, TorGuard wasn’t able to access Netflix or BBC iPlayer. However, users can access other streaming sites including Hulu.
Moreover, TorGuard supports P2P sharing/torrenting. The TorGuard network of servers is one of the biggest compared to its competitors, consisting of over 3000 servers located in more than 50 countries.
However, where TorGuard falls short is its intuitiveness and customer support. TorGuard is a fantastic VPN, but it is not for beginners. You have to manually choose your encryption and protocol settings, moreover, you need to log in every time you want to connect to a server. It's not the worst thing, but it's frustrating if you need to try out a few servers within a short period of time.
As for customer support, TorGuard has three main channels: 24/7 live chat, tickets, and a phone number. The live chat is very responsive, but for technical questions, they might ask you to open a ticket. The ticketing method takes up to 24 hours via email, but we got a response within a few hours. The only problem with this is if their response does not solve your query, you need to wait another couple of hours until you'll hear from them again.
The toll-free number is a nice addition, but it’s only available to those located within the US.
TorGuard provides its subscribers the ability to connect to up to 5 simultaneous devices with each subscription. Unlike other VPN providers, TorGuard also gives the option to add additional connections for $3 per connection.
TorGuard lets you pay with several options, and while it doesn’t offer free trials, it has a 7-day money back guarantee. However, come prepared with a good reason why you want to cancel your subscription. We had to talk with them via the ticketing system a few times before they granted us the refund.
Overall, while there might be a few small places where TorGuard could improve, their VPN comes highly recommended.
