Today's Devotion - Lamentations 3:40 - "Let us examine our ways and test them..."

Examination Time – Lamentations 3:40
Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.
Lamentations 3:40 "Let us examine our ways and test them, and let us return to YHWH."
How often do we examine our ways? Seriously. Think about it. How often do we sit down and put our lives under a microscope? We can glance over our everyday lives and not think much about them. Yet, if we consider each passing thought, each insensitive or thoughtless word that comes out of our mouth, every careless action that we do out of habit, how would they hold up against the Word?
Don’t we think it might be a good idea to actually make it a practice to regularly scrutinize our lives? Yes, I said “”scrutinize”. To judge ourselves. Not in the way of condemning ourselves, but rather in the way of cleaning out our lives. Even Paul said in 1 Corinthians 11:31-32.
1 Corinthians 11:31-32 "But if we judged ourselves, we would not come under judgment. 32 When we are judged by the Lord, we are being disciplined so that we will not be condemned with the world."
So let’s start examining our ways and test them on a regular basis. In doing so, we may find ourselves at a distance from YHWH. In turn showing us our need to return to him.
Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, Shalom.

Amen! We all need to examine what we are doing and make sure it lines up with Gods Word. Great reminder!
Such a timely word for me. I was just challenged to do this yesterday.
As Passover approaches, I feel myself beginning to really put myself under a microscope. What in my character do I need to change? What sins am I committing without noticing?
