Top 10 banks in the world - Who controls the money? (part 1)

It's time for another Top List Post and today we are going to talk about Top 10 Banks in the World. These banks cumulatively controls a major percentage of the world economy with over 1 trillion USD asset individually. S&P recently published a Global Intelligence report on this topic. But surprisingly, China dominates the list of Banks controlling this huge asset. Come on, lets move to the list of top 5.
1. Industrial & Commercial Bank of China, China — $3.47 trillion
Currently ICBC controls over 3.47 trillion USD net asset which is the largest in the world. Headquartered in Beijing, China, it currently operates approximately 17,000 domestic branches and footprints in over 14 countries, including one subsidiary company in London.
2. China Construction Bank, China — $3.02 trillion
The second spot is also reserved by a Chinese Bank controlling over 3.02 trillion USD net asset. Currently operating approximately 14000 domestic branches and around 12 overseas offices.
3. Agricultural Bank of China, China — $2.82 trillion
Again, the third spot of the list is blocked by another Chinese bank which controls over 2.82 trillion USD net asset. It was founded in 1951, and has its headquarters in Dongcheng District, Beijing. It controls over 24,000 domestic branches and 14 overseas offices.
4. Bank of China, China — $2.60 trillion
Like top 3 spots, the fourth spot is also blocked by another Chinese bank which controls over $2.60 trillion net asset. The bank was founded in 1912 to replace the Imperial Bank of China and it is the oldest bank in China still in existence.
5. Mitsubishi UFJ Financial, Japan — $2.59 trillion
Now it's time for one Non-Chinese bank in the list. It was earlier ranked 4th in the list of the top banks but after last fiscal year, it became 5th. It is the largest financial group in Japan controlling over $2.59 trillion of net asset.
