12h March - World premiere of of The Glass room movie, Scala University Cinema
This movie is based on the Simon Mower's bestseller on the same name. The story is placed in Brno during 30's, people and historic events are real. You virtually visit interieurs of the Tugendhat villa, now listed among UNESCO cultural heritage monuments. The seats on premiere are not unfortunatelly free at this time, but the English version of the movie may be projected in your town cinema, too.

9th and 10th March - Electron Microscopy Days in Brno

Brno is thanks to professor Armin Delong the world capital of electron microscopy. In this science festival take part in eleven companies and institutions. Programm is designed for students, broad public and families with children.

23th March - 74th Brno Luzanky Run
Join into the oldest run event in Brno which trace is in the most beautiful park in Brno. Its history started in 1946, and you can choose among 12 categories, there are also categories for disabled athletes. The main men's track measures 7.77 km and women's race track is 6.22 km.

From 13th March till 30th April - Jazz Fest Brno
The festival in its 18th season opens saxophonist Branford Marsalis with his quartet in SONO Centre concert hall. Next Wednesday (20th March) and the same place will play US drummer Billy Cobham and Crosswind Project. The complete program of the festival is available here: http://www.jazzfestbrno.cz

The Festival Open House Brno will be held on 13th an 14th April but you have to register very soon for it because there is 12000 interested people on FB. During this festival will be opened to public places which are "behind the curtain" the rest of the year, eg. The Constitution Court, AZ Tower skyscraper, International Clinic Research Center...

Brno is with its 400,000 inhabitants the 2nd largest city in the Czech Republic. It has young spirit, thanks to universities it is called city of students.
The castle Spilberk and St Peter's and Paul's cathedral are its dominants but it has many other interesting places - Vila Tugendhat is listed among UNESCO cultural heritage monuments, or large exhibition centre
The city lives also in evenings and nights , its cafés and bars are recommended by travel guides worldwide
If you travel between Prague and Wien make a stop in Brno, too. It's a half way and it's worth it
