Top 10 - First Generation Pokemon - PokeSTEEM
Pokemon is a major videogame phenomenon, if you weren't already familiar with the craze from Pokemon GO two years ago,it's a franchise where people catch monsters and battle them.
I have been a long time fan of the franchise and have played all of the games from Pokemon Red, Blue, Yellow all the way to Sun and Moon.
Now over the years the number of Pokemon has Sky-Rocketed, so picking a favorite out of over 800 Pokemon can be tricky.
Today I will discuss the Pokemon from the beautiful island of Kanto. The first generation that pokefans were introduced to.
Featuring many popular Pokemon creating a list wasn't easy....but here we go....

Pikachu - The Electric Mouse Pokemon
Pikachu is the mascot of the franchise, and is known to have some killer signature Z-moves these days.
Pikachu is known for its electrical power and speed both in the anime and in real life has as scientists named a protein after it as well because of its fast properties.
Since the inception of the anime Pikachu has been the face the whole world recognizes when it comes to Pokemon.
This little electric mouse is cute but wasn't enough to break into the higher numbers.
Victreebel - Flycatcher Pokemon
Victreebel was one of the Pokemon I really wanted to get as a kid because it reminded me of Little Shop of Horrors Audrey 2.
See what I mean haha they both look mean! The fact that it was a great grass Pokemon in the early games also kept it on my team. If I didn't pick Venusaur I always had Victreebel.
Marowak - Bone Keeper Pokemon
Now don't be alarmed since the inception of Pokemon Sun and Moon new forms have shown for older Pokemon that is why you see two of my lonely friend up there.
Kanto Marowak the one with the non burning bone, is a tough as nails ground type that has one of the most backstories in Pokemon... where a brave mother risks it all for her child...
Alolan Marowak brings this Pokemon to a whole new island spirituality. IT'S A FREAKING FIRE DANCER!
Way too cool for school. So for its strong back plot and story that's why it has this place.

# Pinsir - Stag Beetle Pokemon
As we know the goal of the franchise is to Catch Em All, Pinsir was always a must have in any generation.
The fact that he was such a prize Pokemon only being found in contest areas, gives Pinsir the number 7 spot.
By the way did you see his sick Mega Evolution?This thing powers up into a beast of a bug Pokemon.
Not to mention that new ability Aerilate, Mega Pinsir is able to turn normal into powerful flying type moves for a bonus.

Bulbasaur - Seed Pokemon
PoKedex entry number 001 a.k.a. Bulbasaur. This Pokemon has a very special place in my heart. In 2000 when I got my first Game boy of my own and my own copy of Pokemon Red. This was my first Pokemon.
I nicknamed him Bruteroot becauseBruteroot was the name of the Venusaur from Pokemon the First Movie.
Overall Bulbasaur was my favorite from the rip. Growing up I was the only one who picked him too haha.

Snorlax - Sleeping Pokemon
Snorlax everyone's favorite sleeping road block. Retrieving the Pokeflute to wake up these bad boys both outside Celadon and Vermillion City was the best side quest in the game.
Now Snorlax is a beast bro didn't get it twisted. Just because you didn't see it you gotta watch ought for when the light shines on Snorlax's eyes.

Kingler - Pincer Pokemon
Kingler ranks freaky high on this list because of one thing nostalgia. Nostalgia has allowed this mon to stay a beloved stalls of mine.
I remember when Ash caught Krabby first aired on TV in America. I also remember when Krabby evolved in the Pokemon league to this monster of a Krab.

Nidoking - Drill Pokemon
The Destructive Poison Ground Type, the King of the Nidos. A Nidoking had shown up in every play through of Pokemon games with Nidoran Male in it.
Nidoking just has that look of a truly terrifyign Pokemon and can literally shake the Earth.

Gengar - Shadow Pokemon
Gengar is the coldest ghost type, and hands down one of the coolest Pokemon ever. It's trickster ways in the anime are also another reason I love it. Gengar is also an extremely awesome Pokemon to battle with.
Especially with it's Mega! Oh my gosh! This thing looks so good. And it's new ability forces Pokemon to face it's Awesome Power!
In my heart of hearts there is only one Pokemon with the top spot here....
