Catizen: Play-to-Earn and Play-to-Help? // TONxplorer
Greetings, travelers!
I've been a Telegram user for more than 8 years, thanks largely to my dear cousin Danilo, but also because it is a fantastic and innovative communication tool. I find it intriguing how the green-colored alternative remains so prevalent, even though it is, in my humble opinion, substantially worse. The launch of The Open Network (TON), an independent blockchain with extensive functionalities already integrated within Telegram, has significantly democratized the transition from Web2 to Web3.
Recently, the tap-to-earn narrative has gained traction, but it's been about three months since I first played Catizen and Notcoin via the Telegram app. As always, please DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH and carefully consider the decisions you make with your time and money. You are responsible for your actions. This post is intended for entertainment as I share some of my experiences and should NOT be understood as advice of any kind. I have no professional or other business relationships with anything mentioned unless explicitly stated. Catizen: Play-to-Earn and Play-to-Help?
Cats are definitely one of the most iconic memes of internet culture. I do love doggos aswell, but I am a cat person.
Therefore, in my explorations in TON, that seem to offer easy and free to access to Play-to-Earn opportunities, a platform that not only has cute felines as characters, but also aims to help real life stray cats that are endangered. They commited 1% of all revenue to be destined for donation in the cause.
Catizen has already committed to a $100,000 USD donation to PETA, facilitated via their crypto-specific donation channel called The Giving Block. This decision followed an unsuccessful attempt to collaborate with World Animal Protection.
According to them, the donation is verifiable with the transaction hash:
0x829ceae6912d6d2dd9e1a9a70a6619a4c77d0e424544f6a3f18dcfaa46aaf50f
The game itself has mechanics really common in the 2010s mobile games like 2048 and other combined-them contexts. Their complete and extense roadmap is described in their site, at: https://catizen.ai/
The project has recently brought the attention of Telegram's founder Pavel Durov, which made an announcement in his official channel that is explicitated bellow:
Moreover, Catizen recently announced that "50% of 'Stray Cat Love Giftpackage will be donated to Non-Profit Organization to save stray cats! We clearly define the purpose of these donations: buying food for cats, treating illnesses, and helping them find adopters".
I prefer to disclose that I have bought the cheapest package using Telegram Stars, and used the fish tokens in fishing, but be aware that it is complete luck based.
If you would like to experiment with the app, use my invite link to get some fish tokens start, and also better probabilities for the eventual Airdrop. The $CATI token has apparently been pre-listed on Bybit, but I don't really understand or trade in pre-market stuff. But I mean, let's see if the tokens go somewhere, and hopefully help some kitties along the way...
