Tribes Tokens Distribution 08.2019
We have seen a lot of Steem Engine tribes forming in August 2019. Some of them made airdrop to users. After the initial start all of the tribes have entered the process of tokens distribution via post rewards, curation and mining.
Tokens distribution is important as it shows to how many users the tokens was distributed to, and probably more important to which users. Are tribes doing a good job and distributing the token to more users or just keep it in a few hands. Do we have more even token distribution than the current one on STEEM? More even distribution in most of the cases means better economics.
An analysis will be made to tribes tokens distribution. The following data will be covered
- Number of users that received tokens
- Number of tokens distributed
- Tokens distribution per users category
Number of users that received tokens
This shows to how many users the tokens were distributed. Below is the chart for some of the most pronounce SE tokens.
Palnet is leading the way and this is expected. As the it is the first tribe that apeard with general content orientation. The PAL token was distributed to more than 4500 users in Aughts 2019. On the second place is the SPORT token followed by NEOXAG, ZZAN and LEO. All of them reached more then 2000 accounts.
Number of tokens distributed
This is the number of tokens distributed. Basically, it’s the inflation of each of the tribes.
Here is the chart.
SPORTS have the biggest inflation of the tribes presented here. It is standing out in the chart with a massive 77 millions of tokens distributed in august. Next is the Steemmonsters tribe, SPT, followed by CCC and NEOXIANG. Large inflation in most of the cases put pressure on the price, but not necessary. It also means that it has the potential to reach more users. If that inflation is sucked up by the user base, then its all good. Pro and cons there.
Tokens distribution per user category
We have seen the number of users the tokens are distributed to. But not all of them get the same share of the pie. Here we will be looking at the distribution per user category. Users are divided in tree categories according to the number of tokens received:
- Top 10
- From 11 to 100
- The rest
What is tried to be presented here is how concentrated the tokens distribution is. Are the top 10, or 100 receiving most of the tokens, or the there are more users receiving some tokens.
Here is the chart for distribution on the tokens per user category.
The ranking in chart above is according to the highest share of the top 10. We can see that on the of the list the top 10 received around 50% of the tokens distributed. The top 10 in each tribe on average have received 37% of the tokens. The top 100 in each tribe on average have received 81% of the tokens. I think this are better numbers that the ones on STEEM.
The ACTNEARN token seems to have the most concentrated distribution, followed by BATTLE, CCC and GG.
Below is the same chart ranked by the highest share of the rest category.
SPORTS come first in token distribution to the smallest accounts. Then ZZAN, SPT and SCT. But the drop here is significant.
Making these analysis requires a significant amount of time. If you find them useful and want to see more in the future your support is welcomed.
All the best

Yes, useful, but, been trying to figure this out and think I see the error: the legend in the bottom diagram is wrong, it should be Rest to the left and Top 10 to the right, with their colours swapped.
If you are tracking this data, would be really useful to know the real token-inflation rate for each tribe - the rate at which new tokens are created, less any burnt.
I know it takes time; I track some Steem blockchain data that few others seem to.
Corrected :)
The inflation vs burned is great topic .... I touched some of it in the previous report .... link on the bottom.
Will do a dedicated DEC analysis soon for inflation and burning .... there will be some details on daily basis.

Thanks.
I do have a question about your method.
How did you determine the top 10? Or, even 11-100 for that matter. Did it include the tribes' antiabuse accounts, curation accounts, and/or @null?
If you did, the charts would have been grossly skewed towards the top.
If you think how I'm choosing the tribes to analize ..... I go for the ones with most users and activity ... PAL have more than a 4k users posted there amd highest number of post .... that how its first ...
No dude. You misunderstood.
I am talking about the data points you used to plot the distribution of tokens.
I’m saying including a tribe’s curation, antiabuse accounts, or even balances at @null etc. would skew the results.
These are issued tokens .... after payment ... so any antiabuse is take into consideration... null transaction are not included and no need to be..... it is data about distribution .... there is a link on the bottom of the posts about tribes transactions to null.
Cool cool. Good to know.
