Hey all!

In the hours after DEC was released, I made a couple hundred steem just from buying cards on the market, burning them and then selling the DEC on steem-engine. The card-prices rapidly gained momentum and within a couple hours, there was barely any profit to be made from following this principle.

However, sometimes people still list cards that we can buy, burn and then sell as DEC on steem-engine to make a profit. Though you probably won't make as insane profits as was available in the first hours, it is still a quick buck I wouldn't refuse. :)

So as far as I've seen, the best cards to try this on are usually alpha/promo gold cards, though gold reward cards may also be worth it from time to time. 1 thing to know is how much each card gives when they're burned:
Common cards give 15 DEC
Rare cards give 60 DEC
Epic cards give 300 DEC
Legendary cards give 1500 DEC
Alpha multiplies this by 2, Gold foil multiplies this by 50. A combination of the two multiplies them by 100.

To calculate if it's worth it, look at the DEC-price on steem-engine, then multiply this price (currently 0.0027) by the amount of DEC you get from burning the card (for gold alpha epic = 0.0027 x 30000 = 81 steem) and then check the price on steemmonsters. If the price on steemmonsters is quite a bit lower than the calculated price (so less than 81 steem), it's profitable. If it's not, then it's not profitable.

For extra profits, I highly recommend using a market that gives you a part of the 5% fee, so for example steem-plus or even peakmonsters if you like that better.

These opportunities frequently occur when the steem price rises (less steem needed to buy card) and when the DEC price rises (more steem per DEC).
