The first ever BOOK ICO is successfully completed

Nomadic Matt sold out all 1000 BOOK tokens during the first ever "Initial Book Offering" or Book ICO held on the Publica.com platform.

History was made on the 20th of June as Matthew Kepnes, a.k.a “Nomadic Matt”, a bestselling author from the USA, succesfully completed his Book ICO. Matt was the first author ever to pre-sell his upcoming book “Backpacker’s Guide to Europe” as ERC20 tokens.

Nomadic Matt’s campaign landing page was launched on May 23 and the Initial Book Coin Offering was open until the 20th of June. One Book token is representing and grants access to one digital copy of the book. The cost of “Backpacker’s Guide to Europe” was 10.00 USD per one BOOK token.

Only 1,000 BOOK tokens were available during the Book ICO. Readers contributed using PBL tokens (the Publica platform's native currency) and received the token instantly. Using this token readers will be able to read the book in Publica’s e-reader app (serving double-duty as an e-reader and cryptocurrency wallet).

Readers can give away BOOK tokens and trade them or gift them to friends, since every BOOK token is an Ethereum ERC20 token.
