Happy Half Birthday, Bancor!

Bancor by the numbers since June 12, 2017

Just 6 months ago, the Bancor Network Token (BNT) was born through one of the industry’s largest Token Generation Events. Over 10,000 participants contributed over $150m of Ether (at then current prices) in order to jumpstart the world’s first ever decentralized and autonomous liquidity network into being. The Bancor team has been hard at work, before and since, to bring this big vision into reality, one node at a time.

Over 50 projects have already announced adoption of the Bancor Protocol, which networks tokens to each other through their smart contracts, and standardizes an open source formula to continuously calculate prices between them, according to real-time buy and sell volumes. 9 tokens have since activated their BNT connectors, which allow them to become continuously convertible to and from any other token in the network, using popular Web3 wallets on the Bancor Web App. The Bancor Network ushers in a new era of low fee, automated token conversion through blockchain-based smart contracts, without needing to match buyers and sellers in an exchange.
