Tips for earning Steem: number one.

I have learned a few things, which helped me earn Steem with minimal expenditure of my own funds here on the platform, which I will now share with you.

**First, understanding the minimum reward level payout rule and boosting your rewards to the payout level every time. **

When you write a post you get author rewards and when you comment on a post you get curation rewards. There is a minimum amount of either author or curation reward that a post or comment must earn for you to get paid, it’s 0.020
You don’t get paid any rewards no matter how many votes or rewards you get less than this amount.
Rewards less than 0.02 are called “Dust”. You don’t get paid for “Dust”.

The “solution” is a service called “Dustsweeper
“Dust sweeper” is a “bot”.
A bot is an automatic computer program which performs a function or carries out a transaction.
If you pay the “Dustsweeper” fee, ( One Steem to start) the “dust sweeper” ”bot” checks each of your post author rewards, your curation rewards and your comment rewards on day # 6 and if any are less than 0.02 and it upvotes them enough to get paid, at least to 0.021.
This eliminates the “dust rewards”. So now you get paid a little for each post you write or comment you make.

Example:
You write a post or comment.
Your reward is 0.019.
You won’t get paid for this, because it is less than 0.02.
You pay “Dustsweeper a fee of One Steem.
Dustsweeper now checks all your posts and comments which are 6 days old on Day#6.
Anything less than 0.02 Steem received a vote, the amount of the vote is just enough to boost it above 0.02.

Example in numbers:
You write three posts; Post A, Post B and Post C.
Post A received 12 upvotes and rewards total 0.015
Post B received 11 upvotes and rewards total 0.018
Post C received 20 votes and rewards total 0.22
If you don’t have “Dustsweeper, you won’t be paid for Post A or Post B, you will lose 0.015 plus 0.018 or 0.033 Steem in rewards, because each one is less than 0.02.
You only get paid for Post C.
Your total reward for those three posts will be 0.021.

Example with numbers if you pay for Dustsweeper.
You write three posts; Post A, Post B and Post C.
Post A received 12 upvotes and rewards total 0.015
Post B received 11 upvotes and rewards total 0.018
Post C received 20 votes and rewards total 0.22
On Day#6, the “Bot” called “Dustsweeper” checks your post rewards which are 6 days old.
It finds Post A with rewards 0.015 and upvotes it 0.006 to 0.021.
It finds Post B with rewards 0.018 and upvotes it 0.003 to 0.021.
Your total reward for three posts is now 0.63.

If you compare your rewards with Dustsweeper to your rewards without Dustsweeper, your rewards have increased from 0.021 to 0.063, in mathematical terms, they have tripled.
If you look at the Steem spent, it was 0.009 Steem to gain 0.042 in rewards.
That’s a return on investment or ROI of 466.67% in THIS example, however the ROI will vary depending on how much the upvote is in Steem.

Discussion:
The money paid to Dustsweeper goes into a Dustsweeper account for you.
The small upvotes are subtracted from your account balance with every vote.
You make positive ROI on every Steem you invest.
Dustsweeper is upvoting your posts or comments and makes money by getting paid part of the 25% curation reward.
Dustsweeper then upvotes its own rewards ti the minimum payout reward, so it gets paid on every upvote.
You pay one (1) Steem to start and then send additional amounts of 1 Steem or Less, to keep it going.
You will get a comment from Dustsweeper every time they upvote your post or comment reward on Day number six.
Dustsweeper doesn’t usually upvote self upvotes. But this is subject to change.
Dustsweeper will send you a memo, when your account gets low. The memo will tell you where and how to send money to Dustsweeper to keep the service going.
You can check your rewards for each post and the dustsweeper upvotes in the Application called Steemworld at www.steemworld.org/@your username
This is truly a win-win situation, where you get paid on every reward, either comment or posts, and Dustsweeper gets paid on every upvote.
The amounts of profit on each comment or post is small, but the number of incidences is large, so this is profitable long term.
Review the math, write me if you have questions.
I don’t own Dustsweeper.
I use the service, even though the rewards are small, because the rewards add up.

Bonus Information.
I will give away Dustsweeper services by making the first payment in the Steem name of up to TEN lucky people who upvote this post. The number of Dustsweeper awards depends on the amount of rewards and comments this post gets.

Hi @shortsegments first of all thanks for writing such a nice and knowledgeable post. I remember sometime back you posted about dustsweeper but I didn't take it seriously that time. Today after reading this post and doing some calculations it seems profitable so going to use this service for sure. But wanted to check if I can pay this bot using steemworld or through memo. Kindly advice. Thanks
