A lot of great points here, but you say "nobody cares about 'what is a sewing machine' anyway"...that's how I feel about a lot of my thoughts to begin with. Perhaps that is just a mental barrier that I have to get over just to get in the habit of posting everyday. I usually just feel like "who the hell cares about what I ate for breakfast or what epiphany I had on my drive into work today". But I guess you never know until you write about it.
Also, never heard of comment farming...sounds like a waste of time!

A while ago we had a user copy and paste a wiki article on sewing machines, which is where that example came from. I get that there's a mental block at times. Its hard to think of something someone would want to read. Look at the nature of social media -- Instagram is literally dedicated to nothing except mundane routine activities. Same here. For a while last year the top posts were pictures of people's drinks.
