Decarboxylation 101: My Trick
21 grams of cannabis
2 cups of 100 proof alcohol (Some like @tecnosgirl use EverClear though some use regular Vodka))
Ball jar
Oven
This is pretty much the exact way that @tecnosgirl told me to cook it all but I did a bigger batch with some changes.
I cooked round one with the directions supplied here....
https://smoke.io/tincture/@tecnosgirl/how-to-make-small-batches-of-tincture
I got this......
Cool a little jar of tincture made as @tecnosgirl directed.
This was a great experience but left my house smelling like some wonderful cannabis for hours.
Talk about the wife wanting to kill you.........lmao
So, I had to do some looking around for a new idea of how to do decarboxylation with less scent left in the house.
During round one I used Tainted love:
I wanted something different without 12% CBD in it so I picked up 1/2 of Grand Daddy Purple shake.
The shake was $60 for a 1/2 in place of $65 an 1/8 like normal
So what was my change to keep the house from smelling for so long?
A Ball Jar. Here is my way.......
This is my final product seconds after cooking it in the jar and allowing it to cool.
This method left me with a light weed smell for under an hour which the oven fan fixed
I know a lot of people who use marijuana all the time. However, even they sometimes do it wrong. For example, despite its growing popularity, few people understand why hemp needs to be heated or decarboxylation before use. So I'm sure that the guide I shared will open a lot of interesting information for you.
So apparently the Magic Butter maker can decarbox it without the smell. @jeff over on smoke just bought one and said it is smell free when it is decarboxing. They are costlier at $200+ but to keep the smell down I am thinking about it myself.
