In regards to your hitler example, just because he wasn't killed doesn't mean time travel can't happen. If people could travel through time, maybe they have different motives than killing hitler. Just my two satoshis.
Yeah, maybe they wouldn't kill Hitler. Maybe they would kill Abe Lincoln. Would that change things? But wouldn't that cause them to not need to go back to kill Lincoln in the first place? Oh wait, somebody did kill Lincoln. So, was that Booth guy a time jumper?
