How to find time to do a lot more

For me, the best method is learning how to really focus on doing something.

Here's an example - let's say you have to write two articles for today, one for Medium and one for Steemit. You don't really wanna do it, but you know you have to.

Because you're not in the mood for writing, you can do two things:

  1. Write one or two sentences, then spend some time on YouTube or Facebook or whatever other website you use. Take as many breaks as you can and don't force yourself to work more than you feel like.

  2. Take 30 minutes or more, depending on how much you need, get rid of any kind of distraction and force yourself to spend that time writing and doing nothing else. You can even edit after you're done in order to finish everything you have to do for that particular day.

Now, the first option sounds a lot better, because you can relax while also being productive and you don't need to force yourself to do anything. You just write a little every time you come up with an idea or every time you're in the mood.

However, in my opinion, the second option is a lot better. Instead of spending hours switching between being productive and being lazy, you just spend 30 minutes or more being fully productive, finishing those articles and then having the rest of the day free.

This is just a simple example. Learning how to focus on one thing at the time and finish as much work as possible is a great strategy to free up some time and allow yourself to do more without having to constantly worry about all the work you have to put in in order to make more progress.

The way I do this is by writing as many articles as I can on Monday. I can spend three or four hours writing, but if I manage to come up with 10 articles that day, then I don't have to write for the rest of the week, at least not on Steemit, and I can spend my time working on other projects, learning new things or simple relaxing.

Learning how to focus and how to remove distractions for fairly short periods of time while you finish all the work you have to do for that day or even week is a great way to free up more time.

Try doing that once or twice and see how it works with your schedule. For some of you, it will be a great strategy. For others, not so much. However, if this works with how you do things, you may find a new way of working that will allow you to do a lot more and work on many projects even if you feel like you don't have enough time to do that right now.
