Our Time is Limited. So Use Yours Efficiently!

We all know that we have a limited amount of time, so why don't we spend our time wisely?

Honestly, it has become very easy to be distracted and avoid the tasks that truly need our time and dedication.

Something that I've noticed for both YouTube and Facebook is that when you finish watching a video, it automatically starts loading up the next video. Almost as if those platforms don't want you to leave. It's not just these platforms, many have these features that make the user stay on their website for longer periods of time!

It has become so easy to waste time without even realizing it. Especially when you watch a funny and engaging video, you may spend 30 minutes or up to an hour watching multiple videos. Then when you check the time, you get hit with reality.

It's not only this.

Many people spend their time inefficiently, often just filling up their schedule with busy work. This gives us the illusion of being productive and spending our time wisely, but it's not.

To really spend time efficiently, we must have focus. Focus on the task at hand and do your best to remove as much distractions from your work.

Create a detailed list of what must be done by the end of a certain time. This will create a sense of direction for you and provide structure to the work you are doing. Everything else that is not on that list must be put aside until the list is completed.

Of course, there are many ways that time can be used more efficiently and effectively.

The whole purpose of the post is so that you analyze the way you are using your time and find out ways on how to truly maximize your time.

We all have a limited amount of time. Don't waste it.

What are your tips on how to spend time more efficiently?

Best wishes,

Yes to making lists! Wake up early. Compartmentalize your day into quarters, your quarters into hours, your hours into halves and put to-dos in each half you wish to occupy. Allow some of those halves for downtime, exercise, eating, thinking......I find this method of time management highly effective and satisfying!

Very good advice. Time management is extremely important when partnered with organization. Thank you for your comment!

For sure. If it helps me, it's bound to be helpful for someone else. It's also a good routine for kids. We homeschool and I find that if we give it a go for three hours a day, that ties up six hours. They get good meals. Half hour of teaching, break and a walkabout. Half hour of application and chores/meal prep. Half hour of listening and learning, half hour to help in the yard or with laundry. Half hour of music, half hour of dinner prep. Half hour of reading, half hour to run or play ball. Half hour for maths or grammar, half hour to clean up or play outdoors. Since they are young, it works. Kind of adjust to fit different folks. When I worked in a career, it served well. Half hour task, five minute break all day long, and a nice long lunch walk.

That is actually a great way to organize time. Since everything is in blocks of 30 minutes, time will seem to go by a lot faster too.

You're right which is why I start and finish a task as much as possible because focusing improves the time to completion and makes doing something like writing a post seem easier! I shared this post on day 8 of my upvotable series and gave you a full upvote!

Oh my gosh! :o Thank you so much! Love your work, @jerrybanfield! I greatly appreciate your support!

I'm loving this post. I soooo need a little more of this online. I like lists too. I mark the ones I have to get done today then add the secondary options as things to do if/when I have time sufficient for finishing one of them in between the required projects. It works well with projects of varying time requirements.

I'm glad you liked it!

Very good idea to prioritize tasks. Definitely makes it a lot easier to figure out what things are more important than others.
