TiL about the autonomous, self driving stroller

TiL about the Smartbe Intelligent Stroller. While browsing through Indiegogo campaigns I came across this new stroller concept. The crowdfunding campaign started on February 18, 2016 and has raised 102% of its goal at $95,796 USD. With 75 backers this project appears to be coming to fruition. As cool of a project that it is, I would like to contribute a donation to the campaign but we are just not a stroller using family. Check it out though, it may be something you're in to.

My Personal Opinion

WOW! I mean, this thing does it all and more. I thought strollers were just for pushing your babe around while you're out and about. This company has really taken it to the next level. In our age of technology we seem to be replacing multiple gadgets with multi functional systems. The smart phone replaced the camera, calendar, planner, phone book, camcorder, board games, hand written letters, calculator, watch, alarm clock, stop watch, timer, television, radio and many more. The Smartbe stroller seems to have done the same! It is truly a smart multi functional tool that most moms would love to have.

Except this mom. Don't get me wrong, this product looks AMAZING, but it just isn't for me. I'm the baby wearing type. We have never used a stroller with any of our kids. I don't think there's anything wrong with strollers, I just prefer to wear my kids. It makes breastfeeding easier, which is also why the Smartbe would not be practical for my family. We do not need a baby bottle warmer. Strollers tend to be bulky and take up valuable space whereas a wrap fits in my bag. I'm a minimalist of sorts, I guess. I also have reservations about putting my baby basically inside of an electronic stoller. Aren't there studies being done and articles being written to discourage you from laying your baby in front of the TV, next to a microwave, with a cell phone under their pillow? Lol. But seriously, all this doesn't feel right to me and I try to go with my gut feeling. Not to mention, I cannot afford to pay upward of $3,000 USD for the premium model with all the bells and whistles when you only use it for at most a year!

Whatever your stance is there is no doubt that this stroller is revolutionary. It is a prime example of where our generation is in its technology application to products we use in everyday life! I never thought I would see a stroller that is self driven!
