TIL: There Are Around 60,000 Miles of Blood Vessels in the Human Body
The human body is one remarkable machine. There are thousands of parts that work together and on their own to keep us alive and help us to function well.
One of those parts is our circulation system which consists of a network of blood capillaries, veins, arteries and heart that carry blood to every part of your body due to which they get the required oxygen and nutrients.
In fact, if these blood vessels were taken out of the body and laid out in a straight line, they would stretch out upto 60,000 miles in length or 96,000 kilometres.
Lets put that number into perspective. The circumference of the Earth is roughly 24,874 miles. So, the blood vessels could circle the globe more than twice with room to spare.
It would require only 4 humans’ blood vessels to reach the moon which is 384,400 kms away from the Earth. Relax, I don’t have a great, evil plan to do so. I am just saying… you know?
But seriously, isn’t that amazing? Our relatively small bodies have so much “stuff” in it and we barely even realise it. Nature really is the ultimate designer.

Impressive, but it is nothing compare to the lenght of your DNA:
" if you stretched the DNA in all the cells out, end to end, they'd stretch over 744 million miles. The moon is only about 250,000 miles away, so all your DNA would stretch to the moon and back alomst 1500 times. The sun is 93,000,000 miles away, so your DNA would reach there and back about 4 times!"
This would have been a more interesting TIL. haha!
