TIL: If You Type “awesome” While Watching a Youtube Video, the Progress Bar Will Start Flashing With Rainbow Colors
Don’t you just love easter eggs? They are awesome and when you finally come across one, you are left with a grin on your face and the words “woot” escape your mouth.
Today I happened to stumble upon an easter egg that Google has implemented in its video streaming website “YouTube”. Apparently, while you are watching a video, and you type the word, “awesome”, the progress bar of the video changes from being red to being all flashy with rainbow colors.
As, Trump would say, “Let me tell you something, it’s Awesome!, it’s Huuuge.”
How it works though, is a little different from one browser to another. I tested this on Safari and Mozilla Firefox. So, let me explain how this works on each:
Safari
- Click on a video.
- As the video starts playing, simply type the words “awesome”, without the quotes, of course.
- If it doesn’t work on the first try, do it again.
- If it doesn’t work the second time too, click on the settings icon at the bottom right corner of the video. And then proceed to type the word, “awesome”. It should work this time.
- For me, it is not working when I do this on full screen. It might work for you however.
Firefox
- Just follow step 1 of the above and it should work just fine.
- It also seems to work on full screen.
Awesome! It works :)
Yeah, at first I thought it was fake but it actually worked. haha!
This is cool stuff man!
yeah it is!!
Thanks. I have to try and see if this works on Chrome.:)
I'm sure it will!
I like Easter Eggs!
