One parent is obviously the father. The other two will provide the eggs and from a mix of all three a baby will be made.

This is only to prevent mitochondrial disease which is genetically passed on.
How it works.

Method 1 PTS
Eggs are removed from both women, the mother-to-be, and the donor parent. These are then fertilised using the father’s sperm. The before the cell divides.
The nuclear from both eggs are then removed and the donor egg and mother’s nuclear are reconstituted and implanted into the mother.

Method 2 MTS

In this method the nuclear from the mother’s egg is put into the donor egg (the donor egg’s nuclear is removed). The egg is then fertilised.

The UK passed into law the legal ability for clinics to perform this treatment over a year ago, but until today the governing body had not approved it.

I wonder how many genetically modified people are actually walking amongst us right now.
