TIL: Japanese Monkey's Ride Deer Like Horses
There are these monkeys in Japan that have been fascinating to observe. They ride deer, wash potato's and take hot sauna like baths.
Last night I was watching National Geographic and they said that scientists aren't sure why or what purpose it serves the Macaque monkey's and deer. but since they live side by side so close this is something they do.
This is something they do in the wild, but most people only get to see it in a park.
They mentioned the area is cornered off isolated from other areas that have forced the monkeys and deers to interact.
These monkey's are fun to watch. They also will take long meditating hot baths in water to keep warm from the ice cold snow.
Another oddity about them is they also will wash their potatoes before eating.
