BREAKING: Ford Motor Co. reveals their new Super Car - 647 hp, 216 mph top speed- Stats, Pics - Built an hour from my house.
It is official: Ford is back and faster than ever! Literally.
The news is confirmed that this twin-turbocharged Ford is one of the fastest on the planet:
- Top speed - 216 mph, meaning it's the fastest production car ever by Ford.
- 3.5-liter V-6 fitted to the car pushes 647 HP.
- 6,250 rpm / 550 pound-feet of torque @ 5,900 rpm.
- The EPA reports this car shows 11 mpg city / 18 highway / 14 combined (actually worse than the Dodge Viper V-10-powered which I've been in)
The dry weight measures in at 3,053.84 pounds. It is significantly heavier than the 2,712-lb dry weight of the 666-hp McLaren 675LT ( When tested by Ford’s team, the GT was quicker around the track.)
There are no official numbers on acceleration yet but the benchmark in this class hits 60 MPH in 3 seconds or less.... and so do some of the Tesla's. LOL.
I am not sure where our friend @runridefly is going to put the baby seats but we all know he might have some roof racks laying around.
Production being run by Multimatic in Markham, Ontario, Canada, about an hour NW of my house, and slated for 250 units built / year and the first run of test cars have already been delivered reports say.
20” multi-spoke wheels ride on Michelin Pilot Super Sport Cup 2 tires & showcase a unique structure designed especially for this vehicle and have carbon-ceramic brake discs at all four wheels.
INTERIOR
This beast features a carbon-fiber cabin and bolted front and rear subframes made from aluminum.
The cabin looks clean, simple. The digital gauge cluster has a central color touch-screen display with Ford’s new Sync 3 infotainment system.
The starter button & transmission selector buttons reside on the slim center channel, along with the pair of paddle shifters at the squared-circle-shaped steering wheel.
PRICE / RELEASE DATE
No official price has officially published. Previous generation models were priced around $100k however this exclusive car will cost more, speculation has been as high as $400,000.
Full Production should begin next year and will compete with the likes of the 2nd gen Audi R8, Chevy's mid-engine Corvette, and the Ferrari’s new twin turbo 458.
