Tibetan Buddhist Kumbum in Gyantse, Tibet - My Photo From 1989
I took this photo in Gyantse, Tibet in 1989 while on a semester abroad. This is a rather amazing structure called a Kumbum. Wikipedia defines a Kumbum as a "multi-storied aggregate of Buddhist chapels in Tibetan Buddhism." The Kumbum pictured is the most well known one in the world. It is part of the Palcho Monastery complex and is very old. I feel so honored to have been there in 1989.
