Professor Langdon, who is once again to save the world, is at stake here as well, as in his two other books "Sacrilege" and "Illuminati".

The first novel by Dan Brown published in Germany, reached the top ranks of the bestseller list within a very short time. With his book The Da Vinci Code, published in 35 countries, he became one of the most successful writers of all time. Dan Brown is married and lives with his wife Blythe Newlon, an art historian, in New Hampshire.

Personally, I am a big Dan Browm fan, so I enjoyed reading his thriller "The Lost Symbol". Ok one can be quite divided, not torn by his critics, but they still criticize his sometimes somewhat wooden spelling in this book, which I did not feel that way at all. They write not badly, but do not reach the level of his previously written books "Sacrilege" and "Illuminati". Well, critics, if they didn't criticize anything, they had lost their raison d'être.

After the accusations of the Catholic Church against the Da Vinci Code/Sacrilege and now also the lost symbol, one wonders what the author wants to tell us. Dan Brown does not show much sympathy for the Christian faith in the lost symbol either. Because right at the beginning of the book his students fall into a trap.

You are a member of a cult
Langdon nodded and lowered his voice to a conspiratorial whisper.
Don't tell anyone, but on the pagan day of the sun god Ra I kneel before an old instrument of torture and devour ritual symbols of blood and flesh.
The students looked scared.
Langdon shrugged his shoulders. And if any of you like me, come to Harvard Chapel on Sunday, kneel down in front of the crucifix and receive Holy Communion.
Completely unreflected, however, he behaves towards the Freemasons, whose philosophy and ideology he describes completely neutrally. They cannot really be evil, if even (George Washington, Benjamin Franklin etc.) the founding fathers of the USA were members of their lodges.
