I think, 3speak.online (@threespeak) being more interactive with video medium makes it more likeable product of Steem, moreover people's engagement on 3speak is more rewarding and always active, but looking at historical data, there has been decline in number of users, this data can be seen here https://steemapps.com/

Yeah, @threespeak is a platform where you are served content in video formats which is always a better bet than written content just for the same reason @sykw mentioned below.
As far as the stats are concerned, I would like to see some more time spent before we pay attention to them as 3Speak is relatively new upon here and is in the process of implementing new stuff and growing along the way, after a while it would stabilize and will surely have an even flow of users :)

Video medium is always more effective, because it employs two of humans most important senses seeing and listening. This is not the case with reading, you get distracted once away from it, but with video medium like 3speak.online when if you move away from it, your ears and already listening and delivers you the desired content.
Exactly, video content is always a step ahead as it engages you better than what written pieces can do. And @threespeak does the job pretty well in that aspect.
