I won't blame him, the people around him are to be blamed for being fed continuous illusion. He's obviously a narcissist, the type that thinks gender equality is not supported by the bible. It's fanasicm at it's highest order. Definitely laughable
It might also depend on the part of the Bible that you read.
Paul the apostle (in his letters, the letters towards the end of the Bible that are placed before the Book of Revelation) made it quite clear that a woman should have long hair to cover her head since woman was made in the image of man.
Man on the other hand, was made in the image of God according to Paul and this is all part of the New Testament. He also want on to say that women should not speak in church (Men should do the speaking) so even the New Testament has a shady record in regards to rights for women.
