BERNIE SANDERS proposes epic Campaign Finance Reform.

"You can't take on a corrupt system if you take its money."

This is extraordinary.
Bernie’s plan will completely transform how the DNC operates.
Bernie is going to shatter the political industrial complex.

One of my favorite #BernieSanders anti-endorsements is from Haim Saban, a guy who openly admits to using money to buy political influence and has donated to #ElizabethWarren as recently as last year.

Hmmmm...🤔

Look how well this has worked out for Trump trying to reform how democrats operate pointing out the blatant corruption and asking for help getting to the bottom of it.

Seeking for a taxpayer funded only federal campaigns will more than likely soar to twice that which it cost now. Anytime government gets involved in anything it becomes costlier than the private sector. The real reason he wants to go this route is because after he implements his socialist agenda no corporation is going to donate to him. The first time out of course he's going to have to foot the bill himself but once elected we are going to foot his bill for re-election.

I think what people fail to realize here that free everything sounds so good but in the end will only cause corporations to move out of the country, along with all their billionaires and millionaire but will only increase the price of products they sell in this country to tenfold. Think about the whole pie scenario, if you have one to sell but are reaping only half the benefits of the sale just how would you as the seller of pies get back some of the other half? You'd raise the price. Real reforms start in the process of making it less lucrative to begin with to have your product made in third world polluting countries. Real progress on the so called climate issue start the same way. What David's so excited about here is the potential to have your cake and eat it to, he wants all this free stuff plus cheap products flooding in at his benefit to the detriment of the US economy, as anyone with means will close up shop and flee the country leaving already overburdened taxpayers to foot the bill.

Drawing a parallel between Bernie's plan to get money out of politics and Trump's quid pro quo with Ukraine is absolutely astounding.

There was no quid pro quo. The javelins being talked about in the transcript were not part of the aid package you think the so called quid pro quo came from. That was a separate purchase that Ukraine made. Lethal weaponry to Ukraine aid packages were being implemented into Ukrainian aid but the javelin's weren't part of that lethal weaponry, those were an approved separate purchase.

Trump was considering withholding aid for the very reason he stated, that was to bring focus to other world leaders to hold them accountable for helping with aid as shown in this letter written by Sen. Inhofe in response back in April when Trump recommended withholding aid to bring the subject to light, which is clearly stated in the last paragraph:

Sen. Inhofe wrote back on April 4th:

“Last year, Ukraine received its first lethal aid from the United States thanks to the Trump administration’s approval of a sale of Javelin anti-tank missiles — a critical step the Obama administration refused to take despite bipartisan support in Congress. The Trump administration also notified Congress in February that, for the first time since its creation in 2015, funds for the Department of Defense’s Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative will be used to provide lethal aid, including sniper rifles and shoulder-fired grenade launchers. I commend the administration for these two “firsts.”

Now it’s time to increase funding for the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative, as well as the State Department’s security assistance programs. And a larger share of this funding should go to support defensive lethal aid that will make Ukraine a more difficult target for Putin’s aggression.

After Putin’s Black Sea attack, Ukraine’s maritime capabilities must be enhanced by accelerating acquisition of coastal defense radars, patrol boats, coastal defense and anti-ship missiles and other systems. On the ground, Ukraine needs more Javelins, other anti-tank weapons, electronic warfare systems and advanced counter artillery radars. And in the air, we should examine how to assist Ukraine in improving its air defense.

Of course, the response of the free world to Putin’s aggression is not the responsibility of the United States alone. Canada, Lithuania, Poland and the United Kingdom have been providing security resources to Ukraine. We need more allies and partners to step up with action rather than talk”.

It doesn't surprise me your lack of researching the issue before jumping to conclusions but this clearly shows that when it came to the phone call there was no quid pro quo.

Pure nonsense.

I'd run down a debate with you but I know it will ultimately only be met with an insult in the end. Bye.

Maybe we can try a voice debate sometime

Why so you can tell me verbally to get got *@&$! instead....I don't know, I was trying to smooth things out and only got insulted. There's that old saying fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.

It sounds like an impossible thing to accomplish. How do you get rid of backroom deals?

Make them something that isnt preferable

Posted using Partiko Android

The only way to do that is not to try and separate money and politics but embrace the connection. Then everything will be out in the open.

Lol what

Make money useless. You're spewing fair tales

On the contrary. My comment was a deeply cynical half joke.

I'm a bot. I detect haiku.

Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren and Biden have got something in common and that's the fact that they've got a plan they're trying to utilize in the general election and the issue of this campaign fund is really something I don't know where it's tilting to. Let's see how it turns out

I am not an expert on this, (so don't quote me) but from what I've come away with on it is that right now a candidate gets matching funds from the government based on what they raise privately if they become the presidential nominee. I don't know about you but I am not excited about the prospects of picking up the tab for the difference. Anything the government touches already cost twice that of private industry as that is because people know they can charge whatever and it will get paid. Just look at the price of say toilets to the military, you or I could go buy one for less than a hundred bucks, the military on the other hand it's ten times or more than that.

Look at the debacle recently where Bernie was skirting his campaign workers whereas they weren't making his often quip promise of fifteen dollars an hour for everyone. Did he up the ante and pay it? Yes he did but he cut their hours. Now imagine if it wasn't on Bernies dime to pay that and instead the burden came upon the taxpayers?....then why not twenty, thirty dollars an hour?...he wouldn't be paying it, you and I would.

Then take into account the loss to the private job sector during campaigns. Under his plan there'd be no more conventions, etc., though campaigns cost outrageous amounts of money that money gets redistributed back into communities creating convention related revenue through hotel rentals, restaurants, food vendors, retail shops, not to mention printing companies who obviously must make a small fortune off all those signs....which by the way will double in price once you and I are paying for them. Once they start to ban one convention why not start banning them all?...I mean, really, why would you want to allow a presidential candidate that you and the media are telling everyone in the US that they are hated and despised by everyone only to have them hold rally's where thousands upon thousands of people are showing up? Perhaps a bit of a hidden agenda on Bernies part along with a whole lot of jealousy?

@davidpakman, In my opinion it's impossible to separate Money from Politics.

Money is Controlling aspect and Game Of Politics is real Control and in my opinion it's doubtful that it ever change.

But Hope and Faith is bigger thing so let's see if good changes will arrive or not. Stay blessed.

Like I'll always say, the world system of politics have been corrupted. We can never trust an ideal outcome from today's politics.

Everyone. I mean everyone have their interest they pursue. Let's just keep our fingers crossed and watch the play.

Never take politicians foe serious, they're too volatile and so is their talks.

Think decentralized!

In politics each candidate can of course get that from someone or a company who wants convenience for them when the candidate is in power. I think that can be happened.

YES YES YES YES
