If it's free its because you're the product, there are no free lunches, while you might not see or feel what you're paying for (privacy or data) as such a bad thing to give up to connect with the service then honestly that's you're own fault and you shouldn't complain about these sites.
I can see more and more people leaving free sites now and its from the higher LSM's people with money and these sites are going to be stuck with a user base that will not see advertisers get a return on ROI. Its the users with money that keep these ecosystems afloat.
Once they defect you will see the whole thing start to unravel, we're already seeing it with Googles programmatic network which is why they focusing on putting more ads on mobile, in google images and pushing google shopping since first-party ads cannot be blocked...yet or without some help and basic coding knowledge
