It is not achievable to leave them completely unburdened perhaps but, it is possible to aim for it. It means working on oneself though.

Self-reliance is a great thing and something everyone should learn (and not enough do), but it's also something that has pitfalls, like a craving of affection, loneliness, whatever else.

If there is the craving, is there self-reliance?
