Phew, made it.
Today was a pretty intense day of meetings and the two hour presentation I gave went down okay, I think. It is kind of strange to present to a group of trainers who often train trainers to train and still have something to offer them. For me, there is going to be a pretty steep and intense learning curve to pull into alignment with the corporate processes they have and what must be 50 systems and programs to learn, many of which are specialized and I have never seen before. Good times.
For some it is natural to enter into this kind of environment where there are a great many meetings with very little space between to get anything that needs to get done, done. For me who has worked largely independently for the last fifteen years, it is a large step and getting myself up to speed is going to be a monumental task it looks like. More good times :)
What is nice though is there is going to be a great deal of overlap in what I will do for them and what I think Steem needs to do also and that is, building the narrative of the organization. The Steem ecosystem suffers from a far from complete story line, but I think that finally there is going to be movement from the community to close in the gaps and build a view of Steem that is able to satisfy the many needs.
What is very cool about the Steem blockchain is that it is not only an immutable ledger, what it holds is content that is developed by us, for us, and each piece we put there becomes an item in our home. The views we have through the various interfaces decide what parts of our home gets focused upon but all of it resides side by side and no matter who you are or where you are from, anyone can make a mark and the content on the chain is available to all. That is a pretty cool idea if you think about it.
It has been a 12 hour day of meetings and trainings so I will head away from the keyboard and chill for a bit (hence the images) and come back later. Steem is going to be my therapeutic outlet so I think I will spend some time digging around some Steem topics later to see what I can find. Any ideas?

Having never worked in a corporate environment it's hard for me to imagine the requirements that you are starting to deal with at work.
But in some sense it should be similar to Steem. Here you are your own boss and write whenever you like whatever you like however you like.
Although you probably have a formal boss at work, you could actually act like you are working for yourself which will help you to own your job and feel like you are connected to it.

It is really strange for me as while I work with corporations, I don't have to deal with the bureaucracy. This is new :)
Yesterday I was talking with someone about future blockchain possibilities already ;)
yep, this is how it is going to pretty much work as a lot of the job is independently performed.
I am glad you are getting ready to get stuck in. When I worked for the tobacco company I was trained in South Africa which didn't have a budget and then had to go through training in the UK. Totally different and the idiot asked me after the course what I thought in comparison. He never liked me after that. I may have been too honest at the time.
What struck home was that they have 50 training manuals. Sounds like way too much and surely they could be condensed.
They need them all to justify selling cigarettes to children :D
I guess winging it work out ok!?!? The story of Steem continues to be built in so many ways that it will be a broad ecosystem with many niches and communities to build upon.

When it comes to presenting, i am a pretty good winger-er.
I think at some point, people are going to feel much more personally connected to it and start creating their own stories here.
Hey congratulations!
I take it you got the job then?!

Got it. Scared of what is ahead. What is nice is there are two sociologists in my team i can leverage ;)
Sociologists with jobs... that's a rarity!

You are bringing back suppressed memories of corporate life LOL. Meetings! OMG.
I was so glad that in my last job I managed to work out that I worked from home on the day each week that had the most meetings. I still had to teleconference in, but at least I didn't have to sit there surrounded by all those people who didn't want to be there. You know, there is a vibe a room gives off when everyone in it doesn't want to be there, and it isn't what one might call an uplifting vibe.
Well it will all be worth it I'm sure. You'll make a difference for them, get paid in return, and also continue increasing your skills. Maybe you can get to where you work from home on some days even.
I am so sorry!
I have to say that these meetings today were pretty fun and filled with laughter. I am unsure how long it will last but the team seems both dedicated, well meshed and social. I am lucky.
I will have to work from home at times and also between my other work on the road. I will also likely be travelling abroad a bit for it which will be a new experience for me for work :)
You really are lucky! Glad to hear it. Enjoy.
The photographs are beautiful, my favorite is No. 2.
Thanks, it was a cold day but worth the effort to get out with the camera.
Training the trainer is alway hard. For it to work well there has to be a give and take between the two.
Weekend is here and you can relax with family.
Steem is a great therapeutic outlet. I have been taking advantage of it and it has been a godsend
People don't use it enough as an outlet - other than to complain about Steem itself of course ;)
I know the feeling. This image hits a little too close to home.
Next week I am going to get a clicker! :D
I'm sure your up to the challenge. Good Times!!

I hope so :)
