Head buried in certainty

in #thoughts6 years ago (edited)

While the recent events on the Steem Blockchain don't inspire confidence or likely motivate many to stay on course, this is the time many should consider their position. Yes, there is a lot of uncertainty in some areas but uncertainty is an alternative view of opportunity.

If something is certain there is no room to move, the outcomes are set and therefore if one is not heading to where is wanted, there is no wiggle room to adjust. Uncertainty is the space to change course if wanted. For those then who are happy with the status quo, uncertainty is unwanted risk.

I personally am not content by the circumstances of my life and while I can live an entire life under these conditions, choosing not to try adjustments for course change would be disrespectful of myself and who I am. Inauthentic me is not a life I am willing to die from.

There is a difference between being happy with what you have and selling for what you have in my opinion. I feel that I can be of much more use to this world and myself if I am able to improve my position in various ways. That is my journey and no matter what inspires or motivates you, I don't require the actions or approval of others to want or to strive to be my best.

Too many people are affected by conditions that actually have no relevancy to their journey but they apply to it. The reward or lack thereof at the bottom of this post has zero to do with whether I put my effort into it or not. Zero. I could of course use it as an excuse or motivator but, that is on me, not a compulsory component. If it gets 1 cent or 100 dollars, the choice is mine what I present.

Once upon a time I used to get 100 dollar posts and feel embarrassed that I would be rewarded for my work. People would sometimes say, "you wouldn't be here if your posts were getting 1 dollar instead."

Yes I would. I have been here many times at that range, I have lived a life of being unrewarded for effort, I have lived a life of doing my best without one iota of recognition at any point. Not just on Steem, in real life too. I am not from a generation or culture where everyone gets a prize, I am not from a culture where effort is rewarded just because of trying.

The work is not paid, the results are, but that is something that an employee mindset doesn't understand because for the most part, an employee plays a small roll in the grand scheme and gets paid to build someone else's vision. Very few the days look to build for themselves as there is too much work, it takes too much time and investment and of course, too much uncertainty. Everyone wants security, and a paycheck each month feels secure.

It is funny considering how insecure that position is when companies control decisions and optimization of resources is a key performance indicator. An employee is a resource, a tool - nothing more. There is nothing wrong with being an employee but the security of it is an illusion. As all security is.

Going back to the value of posts, I do hope that I am able to provide significant future revenue streams on Steem but, future is the key frame. Earning 100 dollars on a post is great but it would only provide 13 Steem at the all time high of 8 dollars. At this point, I am happy earning whatever Steem I can get by doing the best I can, creating the best I can, building my vision.

Do you have a vision of what life you want as are you working toward it? How much do you really want it if you are unwilling to work for nothing today in the process of building a valuable tomorrow?

It is funny that while everyone wants results, they want to be paid before the results are realised. And on Steem they can do just that, grow their skills, learn new things, practice and improve their authentic selves and, get paid a little along the way and still, it isn't enough.

Maybe too many people have grown in a world handed to them, a world of inheritance and provision that they themselves didn't need to do the groundwork for. A life of being spoiled. The problem is that they are still discontent with their position but, don't have the skills to do anything about it. Trapped.

Uncertainty is opportunity to be free, certainty is being confined to a cage with no door.

So much truth right here.

But I tried really hard, even though I never did the background work required to have the skill.

I agree with you, uncertainty = risk or opportunity . Hope the uncertainty created by steemit will not become a risk trigger but an opportunity trigger.

Often the opportunity presented is not seen until the option to take it has passed. It is a shame but, you can lead a horse to water...

I enjoy your posts @tarazkp and consider you a good writer. I also think, in time, that your deepest desires will be granted - Two of your deepest desires might be financial freedom, and good health for you and your family.

It will come, everything in time seems to come, just when we least expect it.

You are doing well and already have a considerable stake in Steem. I'm Dollar Cost Averaging with the little bit of extra I have every month, and I want to reach 3,000 Steem for my family.

My Goals:

  1. 1,000 Steem for me.
  2. 1,000 Steem for @emaferice
  3. 1,000 Steem for @zaclucasrice

I'm happy to be one of your followers on the Steem blockchain 😊

Doesn't every poor person with a sick family want this? =)

It will come, everything in time seems to come, just when we least expect it.

There are no guarantees in this life and not much gets done without the foundation work to support it, even when lucky.

As I see it, that kind of stake has the potential to change lives in the future either directly or indirectly.

I think my recent post was partially inspired by yours and echoes my agreement.

I was wondering but I made no assumptions on it. The photo is great btw =)

Thanks, it was part of some late afternoon play with the series...

"Opportunities" are always there. It takes one with the right set of eyes to identify and capitalize them.

The right set of eyes and possessing the right skillset

Uncertainty is opportunity the higher the risk the higher the potential for the reward. There was a time we all had high paying posts. I am sticking it out as it's not about the money but the relationships. And the dream thanks for sharing @tarazkp

times everything by 20 and wait, it'll be okay.

I was just listening to a crypto podcast that was hitting on some of what you were talking about.

They said the people that will be the most successful in the next crypto bull run are the ones that are building a good reputation in the space at the bottom. Once prices start going back up and new people join the space those people who built a solid foundation in the space now are the ones who will be profiting the most.

In a stake-based system, this is a vital part of the development as those who can stick it out become the platform for those to arrive.

The work is not paid, the results are, but that is something that an employee mindset doesn't understand

It seems to be the case, unfortunately..

I was arguing with a socialist one time (me, arguing? the shock!), and after he explained about the exploitation of the workers by the big bad boss, blah blah, I pointed out to him that it's the 'exploited workers', who actually exploit the boss.

It's his machines they're using, it's his electricity, his raw materials, and it's his risk that they are taking advantage of.
They also get paid wages for thier work, before the big bad boss sees any return.
And it's the workers who are exploited....?? How so?
It actually turns the definition of 'exploit' on it's head, using 'the big bad boss' paradigm, if you think about it..
They changed subjects...

There is a lot of conflict in however you look at it as there are middlemen practices throughout that further complicate the argument. Much of it is blind to each or all sides. The problem with the exploitation of workers is not necessarily at the company level directly, it is through debt cycle and forced enslavement to cover even basic life costs. The economy is designed to crush and milk.

That's communism for ya! (pretending to be capitalism)

Financial trading is(the biggest joke of all - branded and as capitalism.... the making money off money, and not product.

Any logic for this? ( read/skim the post..)

I presume you know who this is....he's going seriously psychotic..

...and he's gonna do more damage to steem than anyone else.

'Bigger people' need to sort it. Pronto.
(h/f 21, for mental health reasons? lolol)

From what I see, he's getting worse.
I mean this very seriously (for the health of steem/it, I'm not big on empathy..)

Many people are living steem like you said but I will forever stay on steemit no matter this present situation. I see a very bright future ahead for
