Burning the midnight...

...Oh, it isn't even 11...

I can't sleep but I really should be as I have to be up in a few hours for a 5 am flight for a work trip. Perhaps if I write a little I will bore myself to sleep.

Are you still awake, or have you nodded off already?

I know that for many my content might not be their particular cup of tea, but no one is ever forced to read anything on the Internet. Thankfully.

I am looking forward to this trip though as while the training is going to be intense as they are coaching trainer sessions, I might have a few minutes to myself at some point and I have never been in this part of Europe. The weather should be a bit warmer and the scenery a little different than what I am accustomed to of late.

I will of course take my camera with me and perhaps have a chance to wander the streets and see what I can capture. I don't have that much time of course, but even a few hours here and there is better than nothing in a new place and should help to clear the head after the long days.

Training trainers can be quite difficult at times as while they are generally good students, they are also often more demanding and desire more detail as they themselves need to have greater depth of knowledge than those they will deliver to. It can be fun though as there is less repetition than enduser delivery or admin training.

What is interesting however is how much focus goes into developing the right mindset for using the software, something that many don't think about when learning a new tool. When the tool works in a different way than others similar and approaches the problems from an alternate path, developing the logic is important.

When I first came onto Steem I had heard it was a social media and treated it as a Medium type of platform, but it is jot really that at all. The mindset for Steem that I found works the best is one that takes a hybrid approach focusing between content and investment areas so that one can develop both simultaneously.

Early on Steem I failed to do this and it took me 6 months to start looking into the investment aspects, which inevitably led me into the technical side, even though quite shallow considering my technical skill, or lack there of. However, one doesn't have to be technical to understand Steem, just interested, something that gets lost on many who are only interested in the earning aspect.

Because of all of the paths of Steem, taking a narrow focus on only one track is unlikely to encompass enough of the ecosystem to benefit, meaning that there is a lot of wasted potential. This might change in the future with communities, apps and SMTs though as more focused approaches could be rewarded.

For me, I am happy with the mess of Steem and while the narrow apps might offer a much cleaner experience, I like getting my hands dirty in the maze and chaos of the Steem later. I think it might be interesting later as the layers above will offer smooth experience, the chain below will still be a cacophony of Steem noise.

Speaking of noise, I don't know if or how I am going to be able to post so over the next few days I might add more thoughts and photos, especially if the sessions are very hard during the day. Writing afterward helps me cleanse the palate for the next day. I am hoping that it isn't as hard as Poland though as one or two nights on that trip were so heavy, I didn't get a shance to say goodnight to @smallsteps before her bedtime.

It is funny how we take time for granted now and the expectation that we can nearly always be in contact with those we love as it want that long ago that a work trip would mean radio silence for days or weeks on end. People would go to war and there would be no word for months at a time, if that. These days, we get annoyed if an IM isn't answered within 3 minutes.

Well, I guess I should try to get some sleep as there are three flights tomorrow but, none are long enough to take a nap on.

See you in the morning.

Safe travels. They are certainly putting you about, which suggests they think you are doing a good job :)

Photos for a few days may need to be the plan, I have no energy to contribute daily at present and wish i had some images to share.

If you are willing to post amateur images, I hear dPorn likes that kind of thing.

Not sure if they think I do a good job or just want me out of the office. I don't mind the trips, but they definitely aren't holidays.

Hopefully you get a breather from all the training soon so you can go to real work and slack off.

I think I'll pass on that one. Forgot to wear my Fitbit today so cant even short-post an actifit report.

Not sure if they think I do a good job or just want me out of the office.

Pretty sure it's the former.

Hmm yeah work, hopefully something more interesting presents itself soon...

Give it time as these "learning" phases suck.

I tend to stay in creativecoin for the art stuff these days precisely because it's cleaner but I hope SteemPeak (and other catchalls) stay active for a very long time as I also like seeing everything else I happen to want to see that isn't art-related.

Hope you successfully bored yourself to sleep and have a good trip :)

ps my attention span means I don't mind if messages aren't answered immediately (unless they were important/time sensitive XD) and am used to having conversations that roll forever XD

I got about 2.5 hours of sleep.

The catchalls are good for me but I also like browsing through the tribe content. I really should find some more people to follow though :D

I don't mibf the long-running conversations, but I don't like it when people who get paid don't reply to at least some of the comments they get. :)
