Yes.

What if it isn't true and this is all and as good as it is ever going to get - would you be happy with that?

No.

Well actually we don't have it bad so I definitely wouldn't be unhappy, just the kind of cranky one expects when throwing your heart and soul into hopes and dreams and having it stubbornly amounting to nothing no matter what :)

So much for some, so little for so many others. Will it ever be different?

It'll change. Just hopefully better for everyone and not much better for some and worse for others.
