LAZY THOUGHTS: Back to my comfort zone

in #thoughts7 years ago

This is what I enjoy doing--writing. This is where I find solace--between pages, just sharing my thoughts, and I must I admit that I miss this fluidness. This unique ability to express my words precisely without blabbing or getting confused. Having to leave my Confort zone for the world of videographers where how you sound and appearance matters more than your points and I am having to learn the hard way. Now I understand why some of you will never quit writing for a chance to be in front of a camera talking about the things you write about so often. It's so confrontational and spontaneous in a way most of you are not used or willing to get used to.

I am a thrill seeker; I am an adventurer. I love to find new ways of experiencing life and this time it has led me into the world of vloggers. But I must commend the community on dtube for giving everyone a voice and to earn something from that process. The thing is most of us don't even stand a chance on other video-posting platforms, even the bloggers here who manage to make it to the top spot are basically average. This is a platform of average and common people. Here we have a chance to be heard. Even in this tiny space of ours we still struggle to be relevant, so I am guessing the feeling of being inadequate is a trait of all.

I have always wanted to speak about those who try to fit in or try so hard to be at the helm of affairs. This seems like an onerous task for me and an unimportant as well. Rather than trying to engage or getting a thumbs up from people who have already created a cabal for themselves, why not engage with people who would appreciate your comments or thoughts and build something from there. Most steemians have tried so many ways to penetrate this elite squad of steemians, even gone as far as trying to pay their way to the top. Unfortunately, you need to have a very deep pocket to achieve this. But really does it matter? Does it matter if your opinions and thoughts get to the trending page? Does it matter if your favorite steemians replies to your comment? Well, it once did for me, but currently, I am at a place where I do not need anyone to validate my opinions. If I don't earn a penny for months, the worst that can happen is that leave the steem ecosystem and hope that steem moons someday so my 500sp investment will pay off. That won't happen though--me leaving. In fact, my plans for the coming year is to engage more with non-steemians and promoting this platform outside this platform. I have been stuck in this bubble for too long that I am beginning to forget how social media works. It's more fun than value, which can mean the same thing but not for your average steemian who measures value in length and quality(a word I am beginning to hate because it has gotten us nowhere), they both don't correlate.

Well, this is just my attempt to write again. I needed that rush. I leave you guys with these random thoughts.

By the way, doesn't it feel weird that the person on your screen talking and the person writing this post seem different? The Nonso on your screen seem unsure and tensed, the one writing now seems haughty and chilled. Which version of myself is actually real? Questions.

Well, I hope you guys are enjoying this festive season. I have seen that most of you guys have gone mute again. Hopefully, January brings you guys back here again, miss your bickering and steem related arguments. I am going to make it a goal of mine not to mention that word throughout the first quarter of 2019 and do what big co-operations do: silent/subtle advertising. The type you never really notice but have an impression on you.

Fun should be the service we sell come 2019. Its the only service that can bring youngsters here, who happen to be major users of the internet. Talking about steem, the blockchain projects all day is boring. What we are doing here is bringing two unrelated things together. Imagine a bank which provides financial services merging with Facebook, this is what steem is doing.

Dsounds should be thinking of ways to bring undiscovered artists to our platform; we need an app like twitter (don't speak to me about zappl please); we need an app on the steem blockchain that offers the type of cheap thrill twitter/Instagram provides, not coins(we've overestimated the importance of earning on this platform and it's not pushing the kind of traffic we need); we need adverts on this platform that aren't annoying. And screw these long keys or passwords (whatever they are), we can simply have a biometric feature that allows people at least remote access to their account. It hasn't been done before on a social platform? Well, we can be the first. The essential thing is that we make this platform easy to use.

I have run out of steem (steam). This is where I draw the curtains. Bye.

I think you are doing great delivering the message you want using both methods! I agree that simplicity needs to come in some way to the ecosystem. Not only in the app side but also in the interface side so that engaging could be as attractive as other centralized platforms.
